🎓 Minimum Education: Grade 12 / National Certificate listed; Grade 10 literacy level specified in the requirements
🚛 REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
✅ Grade 10 literacy level – verbally and numerically literate
✅ Code EC Driver’s Licence
✅ Valid PrDP (DGP)
✅ At least 3 years’ experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
✅ Must be 25 years or older
✅ Experience with dry bulk tankers will be required
✅ Knowledge of defensive driving techniques
✅ Knowledge of vehicle components and functions
✅ Knowledge of emergency and vehicle defect reporting procedures
✅ Experience with vehicle inspections
✅ Ability to operate a fire extinguisher
✅ Knowledge of vehicle loading techniques
✅ Understanding of vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
✅ Safe driving record
✅ Clean criminal record
✅ Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
📌 DUTIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
🚛 Preparing and operating ultra-heavy duty vehicles
📦 Loading, transporting and offloading goods
📋 Completing required documentation
🔒 Ensuring loads are properly secured before departure
⚖️ Ensuring vehicles are not overloaded in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act
🛠️ Operating offloading equipment or overseeing the offloading process
🧹 Maintaining good housekeeping of the vehicle, uniform and PPE
🛡️ Following SOPs and safety procedures
📞 Dealing with customers professionally and efficiently
🚨 Reporting emergencies, defects and other relevant issues
🎯 Following reasonable instructions from the Supervisor
Successful applicants will also need to complete/undergo:
✔️ Medical evaluation
✔️ USCS training modules
✔️ Induction processes
✔️ Practical driving evaluation
✔️ Criminal record verification
