📦 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The General Worker will assist with various warehouse operations, including:
📥 Receiving & Binning
- Receiving and checking incoming merchandise
- Binning stock according to company procedures
- Replenishing inventory from bulk locations to picking locations
- Allocating correct bin locations to new products
- Updating bin information
- Reporting stock allocated to new locations
- Assisting with replenishment functions
📦 Picking & Packing
- Picking customer and branch orders on time
- Ensuring orders meet required cut-off times
- Picking stock correctly from designated locations
- Assisting with stock-taking procedures
- Double-checking picked items to reduce errors and prevent stock losses
- Helping maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Ensuring operational targets are consistently achieved
🧹 Warehouse Housekeeping
- Keeping the warehouse clean and organised
- Completing housekeeping duties daily
- Following all relevant health, safety and operational procedures
- Carrying out reasonable and lawful instructions from supervisors
📱 Scanner Control
The successful candidate will also assist with scanner control by:
✔️ Issuing scanners to operators daily
✔️ Booking scanners out using the electronic application
✔️ Receiving scanners back from operators
✔️ Checking scanners for possible damage
✔️ Reporting damaged scanners to the Supervisor
✔️ Booking scanners back into stock on the electronic system
✔️ Completing the daily scanner issue spreadsheet
