Applicants must have:
✅ Grade 12 / Matric
✅ At least 6 months cashier/till operations experience
✅ Computer literacy and MS Office knowledge
✅ Good numerical skills
✅ Strong command of English
✅ Basic customer service skills
✅ Ability and willingness to work retail hours
✅ Reliable transport or live close to the store
✅ South African citizenship
✅ Clear credit and criminal records
🛒 WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The successful candidate will assist customers at the point of sale and help provide a professional shopping experience.
Duties include:
💳 Processing customer purchases and payments
💰 Handling cash, bank cards, vouchers and coupons
🧾 Processing refunds and authorised merchandise exchanges
💊 Ensuring outgoing stock, items and scripts are scanned and paid for
💳 Processing customer loyalty cards
🔐 Safely managing cash and daily takings
📥 Placing cash into the drop safe according to company procedures
🧑💼 Building professional relationships with customers
📢 Reporting customer complaints and compliments to management
🏷️ Staying informed about current promotions and sales
📊 Meeting required customer turnover rates
🔎 Addressing customer queries about merchandise
🚨 Identifying and reporting suspicious behaviour
🛡️ Following Dis-Chem security and customer service procedures
You will also be expected to maintain accuracy when processing transactions and follow company procedures to reduce errors and fraud risks.
