Caregiver (Aftercare) – Full-Time

Curro, a leading independent schooling provider in South Africa, is looking for a caring, responsible and committed Caregiver (Aftercare) to join the team at Curro Century City.
The successful candidate will assist with the daily running of the aftercare programme, supervise learners, support their safety and well-being, and help create a positive and engaging environment.

🎯 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Caregiver will be responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of the aftercare programme.
Duties include:
- Assist the Aftercare Supervisor with daily aftercare operations.
- Supervise and support learners during aftercare and holiday programmes.
- Prepare classrooms and school grounds according to daily and weekly plans.
- Monitor extramural activities and encourage learner participation.
- Ensure learners remain safe and properly supervised during activities.
- Supervise learners during snack times and bathroom routines.
- Promote good hygiene, care and appropriate behaviour among learners.
- Ensure learners are collected only by the correct guardian or authorised person.
- Communicate politely and professionally with parents regarding learner well-being or incidents.
- Maintain a safe, positive and engaging environment for all learners.
- Assist with organising aftercare activities and preparing learning materials.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 – Required.
- A relevant education qualification will be advantageous.
- Candidates studying towards a BEd qualification will be considered favourably.
- At least 1 year of experience working in an aftercare environment or as a Teacher Assistant.
- Basic knowledge of childcare and learner supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong empathy and patience.
- Good emotional control when dealing with learners.
- Ability to plan and organise daily activities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work shifts when required.
