📢 ABOUT THE POSITION
Fedics is looking for a Wardhostess to join its Johannesburg Talentpool – Healthwise team.
The successful candidate will work individually on patient wards and will be responsible for providing professional and friendly meal services to patients.
The Wardhostess will serve breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks in a busy, fast-paced healthcare environment while ensuring that patients receive excellent service and that all food safety and hygiene standards are followed.
📝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring patients have access to fresh ice water at all times.
- Maintaining beverage stations and keeping tea and coffee urns filled and operational.
- Serving patients tea, coffee, beverages, snacks and meals in a professional and timely manner.
- Assisting patients with menu selections according to their preferences and dietary requirements.
- Completing and submitting patient menu cards to the kitchen within the required timeframes.
- Maintaining and updating patient diet lists before each meal service.
- Communicating diet changes, special requests and dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
- Transporting food trolleys safely between the kitchen and hospital wards.
- Checking that meal trays are complete, accurate and meet required quality standards.
- Serving meals according to hospital procedures and providing excellent patient care.
- Collecting meal trays promptly after services.
- Keeping ward service areas clean, organised and hygienic.
- Maintaining control of crockery, cutlery and serving equipment.
- Washing and sanitising cutlery and service equipment according to food safety standards.
- Following food safety, hygiene, infection control and health and safety procedures.
- Wearing the required uniform and PPE correctly at all times.
- Providing patient-focused service that promotes comfort, dignity and a positive dining experience.
- Reporting service, stock, equipment or hygiene concerns to the supervisor.
- Complying with Tsebo Catering policies, procedures, quality standards and client requirements.

- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and transport meal trolleys during a shift.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric / Grade 12
- Previous experience working in a hospital environment will be advantageous.
