An exciting employment opportunity is available for a Forklift Driver in Berlin, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will assist with the loading and unloading of bagged products while providing general production support to ensure the effective running of the Mill.

🎯 ROLE PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be responsible for the loading and unloading of bagged products and supporting general production activities to ensure that the Mill operates efficiently and safely.
The role requires a reliable and safety-conscious individual who can work effectively in a busy production environment.
🎓 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- A valid Reach Truck Licence
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Basic computer literacy will be an advantage
💼 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar working environment
- Previous forklift operating experience will be beneficial
- Experience in a production, warehouse, mill or industrial environment will be an advantage
🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Loading the correct product and required quantity for customers
- Loading and unloading bagged products safely and efficiently
- Conducting daily forklift safety checks
- Reporting any forklift faults or mechanical issues
- Ensuring the forklift is properly fuelled and filling diesel when required
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards
- Conducting daily stock takes
- Assisting with the intake of limestone and MCP
- Ensuring products are handled and stored correctly
- Supporting general production requirements when required
- Reporting any production or operational issues to the relevant supervisor
- Ensuring that customer orders are handled accurately
- Preventing product damage during loading, unloading and movement

Candidates should have:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of production processes
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety
- Strong attention to detail
- Quick and effective problem-solving skills
- Good organisational skills
- High levels of honesty and integrity
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
⏰ WORKING REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must be:
- Willing to work shifts
- Willing to work overtime when operationally required
- Available to work on public holidays when required
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Of sober habits
- Safety-conscious at all times
👷🏽 IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be a responsible and dependable forklift operator who takes safety seriously and can follow instructions accurately.
You should be comfortable working around production equipment, moving stock and operating forklifts in an industrial environment. Good communication, teamwork and attention to detail are important for this position.
