🧼 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining clean and usable crates and ensuring a continuous supply for production.
Duties include:
- Ensure that crates are cleaned properly and remain free from defects.
- Ensure the crate loader supplies crates to the washing area on time.
- Remove broken or damaged crates before they enter the crate washer.
- Stack damaged crates separately as required.
- Ensure the crate washer remains in good working condition.
- Report equipment failures or problems to the Supervisor.
- Ensure a constant supply of clean crates to the slicing machines.
- Keep the work area clean and organised at all times.
- Perform any reasonable work-related duties as requested by the Supervisor.
- Follow all workplace hygiene, safety, food safety and dress code requirements.
🦺 SAFETY & QUALITY
The Cleaner Crate Washer must maintain high standards of hygiene, safety and product quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the relevant work area.
- Use allocated cleaning materials correctly to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Ensure all required hygiene standards are followed at all times.
- Comply with applicable Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensure allocated equipment is safe to operate.
- Check that safety features on equipment are operational.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions or situations.
- Assist in ensuring that identified safety concerns are attended to promptly.
- Familiarise yourself with and comply with company policies, practices and procedures.
- Follow all applicable manufacturing protocols.
📈 WORK IMPROVEMENT
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives.
This includes:
- Participating effectively in team connect sessions.
- Identifying and reporting non-compliances that need to be addressed.
- Participating in the SGA process where required.
- Applying Manufacturing Excellence methodologies such as MECP.
- Participating in all relevant MECP activities.
- Supporting teamwork and initiatives aimed at improving production, quality and workplace efficiency.
