PG Primador® is part of PG Group and supplies quality aluminium door, window and shower door frames, as well as glass products. The company is looking for a responsible and experienced Truck Driver to join its team in Cape Town.
🎯 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and delivering glass products to and from customers efficiently and safely while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
The driver will also be required to ensure that all relevant paperwork, trip sheets and quality documentation are completed accurately.
📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include:
- Delivering glass and related products to and from customers.
- Having a good understanding of roads and routes within the delivery area.
- Keeping the assigned vehicle clean and well maintained at all times.
- Completing daily trip sheets accurately and honestly.
- Completing quality check sheets during the loading process.
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting faults immediately.
- Assisting with the loading of materials onto the vehicle before leaving the premises.
- Ensuring that all loading and offloading activities are performed safely.
- Completing all required paperwork neatly and accurately.
- Following company work instructions, standard operating procedures and business rules.
- Complying with road, environmental, safety and housekeeping standards.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Working effectively in a demanding, fast-paced and pressurised environment.
- Working overtime, weekends and shifts when required.
- Performing any other reasonable duties requested by the Factory Services Manager.
🎓 REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- A valid Code 10 or higher driver’s licence
- A valid PrDP
- At least 2 years’ driving experience would be advantageous.
⭐ EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Experience in the following areas will be advantageous:
- Handling and moving dangerous goods.
- Handling different types of glass products.
- Glass handling and quality control.
- Reading and understanding drawings and production orders.
- Working with customers and delivering products safely.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as good analytical and numerical abilities.
