📌 ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced food FMCG manufacturing environment, assisting with the accurate weighing, measuring and preparation of raw materials according to production requirements.
The role requires someone who is reliable, accurate, safety-conscious and able to follow procedures and instructions.
The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain high standards of food safety, quality, hygiene and health and safety.
📝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Accurately weighing and issuing raw materials according to approved production recipes and batch requirements.
- Operating weighing equipment and other relevant production equipment safely and correctly.
- Verifying raw materials, quantities, batch numbers and expiry dates before use.
- Completing production, weighing and traceability documentation accurately.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and hygiene standards within the weighing room.
- Following GMP, HACCP, food safety, health and safety and company procedures.
- Identifying and reporting discrepancies, damaged materials, equipment faults and quality concerns.
- Ensuring materials are correctly labelled and stored after weighing.
- Working closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse and other departments.
- Supporting stock control and helping to minimise material wastage.
- Performing basic equipment checks and reporting maintenance requirements.
- Participating in cleaning and sanitation activities when required.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, production, batching or weighing will be advantageous.
- Experience working with production recipes, batch sheets or weighing systems will be advantageous.
- Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
- An understanding of workplace hygiene and safety requirements.
- The ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays where required.
