Position: Workplace Experience Student – Day Laboratory
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Tiger Brands is offering an exciting Workplace Experience Student opportunity at its Roodekop site. This opportunity is ideal for a student who wants to gain practical workplace exposure and develop valuable laboratory, quality, safety and manufacturing-related skills within a well-established organisation.
The successful candidate will be exposed to various laboratory activities and will be expected to support daily operations while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, governance and data integrity.
This opportunity will also provide exposure to different functions within the workplace, allowing the student to gain practical knowledge and understand how laboratory activities contribute to the overall business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Workplace Experience Student will be involved in a range of laboratory and operational activities, including:
- Supporting core laboratory responsibilities and daily activities.
- Completing shiftly, daily, weekly and monthly laboratory activities as required.
- Assisting with water testing and retention store management.
- Providing support during sensory evaluations and product tasting activities.
- Supporting MECP, safety and 5S responsibilities within the laboratory and workplace.
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records and ensuring data integrity and traceability.
- Assisting with equipment verification and calibration activities.
- Supporting retention stock reconciliation and disposal management.
- Identifying and escalating quarantined and non-conforming materials.
- Participating in CAPA follow-up activities where required.
- Assisting with KPI and dashboard reporting.
- Supporting consumables and laboratory inventory governance.
- Maintaining proper documentation and ensuring that information is captured accurately.
- Following laboratory procedures, safety requirements and company standards.
- Participating in cross-functional exposure and job-shadowing opportunities.
- Taking part in emergency preparedness activities.
- Participating in spill response activities when required.
- Supporting governance and audit-related responsibilities.
