Tiger Brands is looking for a Packaging Assistant to join its team in Roodekop, Gauteng. This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable and organised individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that packaging materials are received, stored, controlled and issued efficiently to support uninterrupted production. The role also requires accurate stock administration and adherence to company standards.
🎯 JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of the Packaging Assistant role is to manage the receipt, storage and issuing of packaging materials required for production while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that sufficient stock is available when needed.
🛠️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving packaging materials delivered to the site.
- Inspecting packaging materials to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Recording stock received accurately and maintaining up-to-date inventory records.
- Processing inventory transactions correctly.
- Issuing packaging materials to production departments according to requirements.
- Ensuring that the correct packaging materials are supplied to production at the right time.
- Conducting regular stock counts and physical inventory checks.
- Investigating stock discrepancies and reporting or resolving inventory variances.
- Monitoring packaging material stock levels to prevent shortages.
- Assisting with the replenishment of packaging materials when required.
- Ensuring that FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation principles are followed.
- Ensuring packaging materials are stored correctly and safely.
- Maintaining proper housekeeping within storage and working areas.
- Following all relevant health, safety, quality and company procedures.
- Preparing inventory, stock movement and related reports as required.
📋 WHAT THE ROLE REQUIRES

The successful candidate should be able to handle stock responsibly, maintain accurate records and follow established procedures when receiving, storing and issuing materials.
Experience in warehousing, stock control, inventory management, packaging, manufacturing or production environments may be advantageous.
