🎯 PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of PepsiCo products to customers and IDC depots.
Long Haul Drivers will play an important role in ensuring that products reach their destinations on time while maintaining high standards of road safety, vehicle care, fuel efficiency and compliance with company procedures.
🚛 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering PepsiCo products to customers and IDC depots safely and efficiently.
- Following all road safety requirements and maintaining good driving practices at all times.
- Ensuring zero speed and traffic-related fines by complying with road regulations and company policies.
- Conducting appropriate checks on the vehicle before every trip.
- Inspecting tyres before every journey to ensure that they are safe and roadworthy.
- Reporting any vehicle defects or mechanical concerns promptly.
- Carrying out initial fault-finding when vehicle breakdowns occur.
- Assisting with basic roadside requirements, including tyre changes, where necessary.
- Taking responsibility for the safety and condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is operated responsibly and in accordance with company safety standards.
- Maintaining fuel consumption within the agreed company standard.
- Reporting vehicle problems, incidents and defects accurately and timeously.
- Ensuring that all deliveries are completed professionally and according to operational requirements.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have:
- A valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- At least 2 years of relevant driving experience.
- Good knowledge of road safety and responsible driving practices.
- The ability to perform basic vehicle fault-finding.
- The ability to inspect and report vehicle defects.
- A strong understanding of vehicle and tyre safety.
