Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide hands-on support within the food-service operation. The Food Services Assistant will assist with food preparation and presentation, meal and beverage service, cleaning, stock handling, and the preparation and clearing of service areas.
The role requires someone who can follow established procedures, work safely, communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, and remain dependable in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of operational and food-service duties, including:
Food Preparation
- Assist with basic food preparation and presentation according to established procedures.
- Help ensure food is prepared and presented appropriately before service.
- Handle food products carefully and maintain good hygiene practices throughout preparation.
Meal and Beverage Service
- Serve meals and beverages to customers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.

Cleaning and Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness throughout kitchen, dining, and service areas.

- Ensure cleaning and hygiene procedures are consistently followed.
Food Supplies and Stock Handling
- Support the team with receiving, storing, and handling food supplies.
- Handle food items and supplies appropriately to help maintain quality and safety.
- Assist with ensuring food-service areas have the necessary supplies for daily operations.
Service Area Preparation
- Assist with setting up service areas before meals and clearing them after service.
- Help ensure service areas are ready and properly maintained throughout operations.
Equipment and Teamwork
- Operate kitchen and food-service equipment safely and responsibly.
- Follow instructions when using equipment and report concerns where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Assist colleagues where required to maintain service standards.
