Are you an unemployed South African youth looking to kick-start your career in the transport and logistics industry? Unitrans is offering a structured Truck Driver Learnership leading to an Occupational Certificate: Truck Driver NQF Level 3.
This is an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience, classroom training and professional driving skills while preparing for a career in the road freight and transport industry.
🚛 ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The learnership combines classroom theory, on-the-job training and practical driving experience.
Participants will be trained to operate safely and efficiently while developing the skills required in a modern transport environment.
The programme is designed to prepare future drivers for an industry that increasingly uses technology, telematics, computerised trucks and data-driven fleet management.
📋 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have a valid Code EC driver’s licence.
- Have a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) with categories D, G and P.
- Submit a certified copy of their Matric certificate.
- Be medically fit.
- Be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Have a degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Economics or a related field will be advantageous.

📚 PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS
Successful learners will complete a structured 12-to-18-month programme consisting of:
- Classroom-based theoretical training.
- On-the-job workplace training.
- Practical driving experience.
- Compulsory face-to-face classroom sessions.
- A minimum of 100 practical driving hours in the workplace.
- Training in road safety and energy-efficient driving practices.
- A final assessment to determine competence.
- The compulsory External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA).
