About the Opportunity
Scorpion Legal Protection is seeking a reliable, professional, and experienced Driver to join its team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting the Business Development Manager, sales team, and other authorised employees to various designated locations.
This role is suited to an experienced driver who is comfortable travelling extensively, planning efficient routes, working flexible hours, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism while representing the company. The position may require travel on weekdays, weekends and public holidays depending on the authorised operational work plan.
The Driver will also play an important supporting role in the company’s field operations by ensuring that employees reach their destinations safely, punctually, and efficiently.
Purpose of the Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide safe and reliable transportation for the Business Development Manager, Sales Team, and authorised employees while supporting field operations across designated locations.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent road safety awareness, good judgement, punctuality, reliability, and strong customer-service skills.
Key Responsibilities
The Driver will be responsible for:
- Safely transporting the Business Development Manager, Sales Team, and other authorised employees to designated locations.
- Collecting and dropping off employees according to the daily operational schedule.
- Planning and following efficient travel routes to minimise delays and maximise productivity.
- Conducting routine vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle remains roadworthy and safe.
- Reporting vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, and other incidents promptly.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and good condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Ensuring that all passengers are transported safely and professionally.
- Complying with all applicable traffic laws and road safety requirements.
- Following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Assisting with other reasonable transportation-related duties when required.
- Maintaining a professional attitude when interacting with employees, management, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Being flexible regarding travel requirements and operational schedules.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Education
- Matric / Grade 12, or alternatively Grade 10.
- Any additional relevant qualification will be advantageous.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ driving experience.
- Experience transporting employees, professionals, or business teams will be advantageous.
- Proven experience driving long distances.
- Experience travelling extensively is required.
Licences and Other Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a valid and unendorsed driver’s licence.
- Hold a valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).
- Have access to reliable personal transport.
- Be willing and able to travel extensively.
- Be willing to relocate at their own cost where applicable.
