About the Role
HEINEKEN Beverages is inviting applications for a Driver FL position based at Wadeville Production within the Warehouse Department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Warehouse Team Leader and will play an important role in ensuring that products are safely and efficiently moved, stored and prepared for dispatch.
The position is suited to an experienced forklift operator who understands warehouse operations, follows safety procedures and can work accurately under pressure. As part of the Warehouse team, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift, transporting finished products, loading trucks and maintaining accurate stock movement records.
This role requires someone who takes safety seriously, works well with others and can meet dispatch deadlines without compromising product integrity or workplace standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Driver FL will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts within the warehouse and production environment.
Forklift Operations
Key duties include:
- Operating the forklift safely and efficiently according to company standards.
- Completing a daily forklift pre-use checklist.
- Identifying and reporting any forklift defects or concerns.
- Stacking, retrieving and transporting products according to instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring products are moved safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
- Loading finished goods onto trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Ensuring loads are stable and products remain secure during transportation and loading.
- Taking appropriate care to prevent product damage, breakages or losses.
Stock and Dispatch
The successful candidate will also support warehouse stock and dispatch activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring correct stock counts before products are dispatched.
- Maintaining accurate documentation relating to stock movement and loading.
- Supporting efficient dispatch processes.
- Ensuring products are correctly positioned and ready for transportation.
- Working efficiently to meet dispatch deadlines.
- Reporting any discrepancies or issues that could affect dispatch.
Accuracy is important in this position, as incorrect stock movements or counts can affect warehouse operations and customer deliveries.
Safety Responsibilities
Safety is a major priority in the role. The successful candidate must consistently comply with workplace safety requirements and forklift operating procedures.
This includes:
- Following all site safety rules and procedures.
- Complying with PPE requirements.
- Conducting required forklift inspections.
- Reporting unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Reporting near misses proactively.
- Operating equipment responsibly at all times.
- Following relevant warehouse procedures and SOPs.
The successful candidate must also have Medical Fitness, as specified in the requirements for the position.
Continuous Improvement
The Driver FL will be expected to contribute beyond daily forklift operations by participating in broader warehouse improvement activities.
The role includes:

- Supporting broader warehouse tasks when required.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Valid forklift driver’s licence – essential.
- 1–2 years’ experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment.
- Experience loading and unloading trucks.
- Proficiency in English.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Solid knowledge of warehouse safety and safe working procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to meet dispatch deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to assist with broader warehouse duties when required.
- Medical Fitness.
Experience handling finished goods or FMCG products will be advantageous.
Ideal Candidate
