About the Role

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport is seeking a suitable candidate for a permanent Administrative Clerk (Production): Public Counter position within Motor Transport Services in Pietermaritzburg.

The successful candidate will work in a public-facing administrative environment, providing motor vehicle registration and licensing services while handling financial transactions, eNATIS functions and public enquiries.

This role would suit someone who is organised, professional, accurate and comfortable working with members of the public, financial transactions and administrative systems.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing motor vehicle registration and licensing cash office services in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act.
  • Performing daily banking and financial-related transactions.
  • Balancing revenue collected in accordance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
  • Performing eNATIS and cashier functions related to Taxi Recap.
  • Verifying documentation and applications received.
  • Capturing relevant transactions accurately.
  • Responding to general public enquiries regarding motor vehicle registration and licensing.
  • Providing supply chain clerical support within the component.
  • Maintaining accurate administrative and financial records.
  • Following departmental procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Providing professional and efficient service to members of the public.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have:

  • Senior Certificate / National Certificate (Vocational), NQF Level 4.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Candidates should have knowledge of relevant road traffic legislation and regulations, particularly the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1966.
