Job Overview

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you will be an important part of the customer’s experience in-store. You will interact directly with customers, assist them with their needs and ensure that point-of-sale activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Point of Sale Operations
The successful candidate will assist with all relevant point-of-sale activities, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

- Processing customer transactions at the point of sale.

Customer Service

The Shop Assistant / Cashier will be expected to:
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Minimum Requirements
Education
The essential educational requirement is:
- Grade 12 / Matric
The following would be advantageous:
- Grade 12 Mathematics at 50% or higher.
- Grade 12 English at 50% or higher.
Experience
Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
Experience in a customer-facing position within a retail or FMCG store environment would be advantageous.
This means candidates who have worked directly with customers in a retail environment may have an advantage, particularly if they are familiar with point-of-sale activities, merchandising and store operations.
