🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
- 0–2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in agriculture, grain handling, storage or general work will be advantageous.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required.
- Must have a clear criminal record.
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing manual work.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills.

🏭 ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Worker will provide general assistance at the VKB Grain facility.
The position is important to the daily operation of the silo and storage facility. The successful candidate will assist with the handling and storage of agricultural products and ensure that the facility remains clean, organised and operational.
The role may involve physically demanding duties, therefore applicants should be comfortable with manual work and working in an agricultural environment.
You may also be required to work overtime depending on operational requirements.
🔧 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing general assistance to the facility.
- Supporting daily operational activities.
- Performing loading and bagging of products.
- Assisting with the storage and handling of products.
- Performing other relevant tasks related to grain and product operations.
- Driving a tractor when required and where appropriately authorised.
- Performing cleaning services within the facility.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Completing ad hoc tasks as assigned by management or supervisors.
- Following workplace procedures and safety requirements.
- Providing excellent service delivery.
- Working cooperatively with colleagues to achieve operational objectives.
- Representing GWK and VKB Group professionally.
- Acting as a positive GWK ambassador.
- Supporting the team during busy periods and operational demands.
