Job Overview
The Building Company is looking for a reliable and responsible Driver 3501–9000 kg to join the Citiwood team in Gauteng. This is a permanent opportunity for a driver who can provide safe, prompt and efficient delivery services while ensuring that customer orders reach their destinations correctly and in good condition.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that goods are delivered to customers and stores without unnecessary delays, shortages, breakages or damage. The Driver will be responsible for transporting goods, assisting with loading, checking that the vehicle is packed correctly and completing the necessary delivery documentation. Purpose of the Role
The main purpose of the Driver position is to provide a safe, prompt and efficient delivery service to customers and stores.
The driver must ensure that goods are delivered in the correct quantities and that products arrive without breakages, shortages or unnecessary damage. The role also requires compliance with company procedures, road safety requirements and The Building Company’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Delivering Goods
- Delivering goods safely and efficiently to customers and stores.
- Ensuring all deliveries are completed according to the required schedules.
- Checking that the correct goods and quantities are supplied.
- Ensuring products arrive without unnecessary damage or shortages.
- Handling delivery documentation correctly.
- Obtaining the required delivery note authorisations.
Loading and Vehicle Packing
- Supervising and assisting with the loading of goods.
- Ensuring the vehicle is packed neatly and securely.
- Taking appropriate precautions to prevent damage and breakages during transportation.
- Checking that goods are properly secured before travelling.
- Ensuring the vehicle remains organised throughout the delivery process.
Vehicle Safety and Maintenance
The driver will be expected to take responsibility for the condition and safe operation of the assigned vehicle.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting daily vehicle inspection checks.
- Identifying and reporting vehicle defects.
- Ensuring vehicle maintenance requirements are communicated and attended to.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Code 10 (HV) driver’s licence for the applicable vehicle category.
- Code 8 (LV) driver’s licence for vehicles below 3 501 kg.
- Ability to operate vehicles within the 3 501–9 000 kg range as required.
- At least 2 years of relevant driving experience.
Candidates should also be dependable, safety-conscious and capable of working independently while meeting delivery requirements.

Where COD collections are required, the driver must collect and manage the relevant monies responsibly and in accordance with company procedures.
