Job Overview
adidas is looking for a Permanent Part-timer to join its retail team at Pavilion, Durban.
This role is suited to someone who has a genuine passion for retail, customer service, fashion and sport and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support the store team with day-to-day operations while ensuring every customer receives a high standard of service.
The position involves a variety of responsibilities, including assisting customers, processing sales, replenishing stock, maintaining store standards, supporting merchandising and displays, and helping protect company assets.
Previous fashion retail experience will be highly regarded but is not essential. The position requires a Matric certificate and 0–1 years of retail experience, making it suitable for candidates who are starting or building their retail careers.
Flexibility is important, as employees may be required to assist during weekdays, evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales
The successful candidate will help deliver an excellent adidas customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting customers when they enter the store.
- Helping customers find the right products.
- Providing product information and technical details.
- Using selling techniques such as add-on sales.
- Supporting store and individual sales goals.
- Assisting with sales transactions involving cash, credit and other accepted payment methods.
- Acting as a greeter during busy periods when required.
A positive attitude, confidence and strong communication skills are important for creating an engaging customer experience.
Stock and Product Flow
The role also supports the movement and availability of products within the store.
Duties include:
- Assisting with product flow from the stockroom to the sales floor.
- Checking paperwork against received products.
- Assisting with product ticketing where required.
- Helping ensure merchandise is available and presented correctly.
- Supporting stockroom and sales-floor requirements.
Visual Merchandising
The Permanent Part-timer will assist with maintaining the store’s visual standards.
This includes:
- Helping develop merchandise displays.
- Following display schedules and recommendations from management.
- Ensuring products are presented appropriately.
- Supporting the overall appearance of the sales floor.
Point of Sale and Store Systems
Employees will be expected to become proficient in the store’s point-of-sale system.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing effective POS system skills.
- Following all relevant procedures.
- Maintaining transaction accuracy.
- Protecting the integrity of store processes.
- Becoming familiar with Power BI tools to understand store performance, best sellers and product gaps.
Housekeeping and Loss Prevention
The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and secure store environment.
Duties include:
- Maintaining general housekeeping standards.
- Cleaning the store when required.
- Safekeeping company assets.
- Monitoring the sales floor.
- Reporting suspicious activity.
- Following loss-prevention and security procedures.
Training and Development
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in available in-store and digital training to build product knowledge and improve role-specific skills.
Training may include systems such as Atticus and AREA, helping employees understand adidas products, retail best practices and their responsibilities within the store.
Requirements
