Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
The Customer Assistant will be responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to customers.
Duties include:
- Greeting customers and responding to their needs.
- Assisting customers with product queries.
- Advising customers on products, promotions and alternatives.
- Providing product information and demonstrating product knowledge.
- Creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience.

Stock Management
The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate and well-presented stock throughout the Foods department.
Responsibilities include:
- Replenishing shelves.
- Rotating stock correctly.
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Following merchandising requirements and planograms.
- Maintaining cold-chain standards.
- Ensuring products are displayed correctly.
- Identifying damaged or poor-quality products.
Attention to detail is essential when handling food products and managing stock.
Food Safety and Hygiene
Food safety is an important part of the position.
The Customer Assistant must:
- Follow food safety procedures.
- Maintain hygiene standards.
- Keep the department clean and organised.

- Identify and isolate damaged or unsuitable products.
- Manage returns according to procedures.

Shrinkage and Security
