🎯 JOB PURPOSE
The Workplace Experience Student will support the Sales and Distribution team with activities aimed at increasing product sales, maintaining customer relationships and ensuring that products reach customers efficiently.
This opportunity is designed to provide students with practical workplace exposure in sales operations, distribution, customer service, market development and business administration.
📌 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate may be required to:
- Assist the sales team with identifying and contacting potential customers.
- Support daily sales activities, including taking orders, following up with customers and responding to enquiries.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with customers, retailers, distributors and business partners.
- Help prepare sales reports, quotations, invoices and other sales-related documents.
- Monitor customer orders and work with the distribution team to support timely deliveries.
- Assist with stock monitoring and report low-stock or fast-moving products.
- Conduct basic market research to understand customer needs and competitor activities.
- Identify potential new sales opportunities.
- Assist with promotional activities, product launches and sales campaigns.
- Keep customer and sales information accurate on company systems and spreadsheets.
- Assist with resolving customer queries and escalating complaints when necessary.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the team.
🎓 REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should:
- Be currently studying toward, or have recently completed, a qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Have strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Have basic computer literacy.
- Be comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Have good organisational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s licence may be advantageous depending on the requirements of the role.
