🎓 WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

Transnet is inviting applications for its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Non-Technical Learner Programme, offering students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience.

The programme is designed to help participants apply the knowledge they gained through their studies in a real working environment. Successful learners will receive practical exposure, mentorship, training and the opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills.

The WIL programme will run for 18 months and is available in Eastern Cape, Durban and Western Cape.


📚 WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Matric certificate or equivalent.
  • Have completed all theoretical subjects from N4–N6 in one of the following fields:
    • Office Management
    • Human Resources
    • Marketing Management
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Must not have a bursary obligation with another company.
  • Must provide the most recent proof of confirmation or a letter from the institution.
  • Must provide a certified copy of their Matric certificate.
  • Must provide their academic record.
  • Must provide a copy of their ID.

Preference will be given to People with Disabilities and suitably qualified applicants from designated groups.


💼 WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Learners will receive practical exposure by assisting with different projects and daily activities within their assigned departments.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with specific projects and work-streams.
  • Performing routine operational tasks under supervision.
  • Supporting administrative functions.
  • Preparing documentation and reports.
  • Participating in training sessions and workshops.
  • Taking part in mentorship programmes.
  • Shadowing experienced professionals.
  • Participating in problem-solving activities.
  • Interacting with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Providing updates on assigned tasks and project progress.
  • Conducting market research and data collection.
  • Assisting with data analysis.
  • Preparing reports and presentations using MS Office.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives.
  • Following company policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
