🧼 JOB PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Dis-Chem Head Office and communal areas.
The Cleaner will need to ensure that offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, canteen areas and other communal spaces are clean and properly maintained throughout operational hours.
📝 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Head Office.
- Develop cleaning routines to ensure all areas remain clean.
- Keep the canteen and restrooms clean and adequately stocked.
- Be available during operational hours to attend to cleaning requirements.
- Check refuse before disposal to ensure no products or valuable goods are accidentally discarded.
- Vacuum carpeted meeting and training rooms daily according to procedures.
- Vacuum other carpeted areas weekly.
- Dust desks, chairs, telephones, shelves, photocopiers and other office equipment.
- Follow all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Store cleaning equipment safely when it is not being used.
- Ensure wet-floor signs are clearly visible when cleaning floors.
- Keep kitchens and bathrooms clean and properly stocked.
- Report low or out-of-stock cleaning supplies to the team leader.
- Report faulty equipment and maintenance issues such as broken handles, locks, taps, lights and switches.
- Assist customers or visitors when they require directions.
- Communicate politely and professionally with staff and guests.
- Report or redirect minor problems to the team leader when necessary.
