RCL FOODS is looking for a Cashier to join its Commercial team in Rustenburg, North-West.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and processing cash deposits, accurately recording cash and cheques, preparing banking deposits and ensuring that all cash is handled and stored securely.
This opportunity is suitable for candidates who have Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics and are based in or around Rustenburg. Previous experience in a cash office, banking or similar environment will be advantageous.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics.
- Must reside in or around Rustenburg.
- Previous experience in a similar position will be advantageous.
- Cash office or banking experience will be beneficial.
- Good numerical and administrative skills.
- Ability to accurately handle and record cash.
- High level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to follow strict cash-handling and security procedures.
💰 CASH DEPOSIT RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving all cash deposits from drivers.
- Preparing the bank deposit.
- Making up the bank.
- Counting cash received from drivers.
- Balancing cash received against the relevant deposit slip.
- Recording cash and cheques in the cash-up summary.
- Preparing cash deposits for banking.
- Recording seal numbers accurately in the relevant register.
- Ensuring all cash transactions are properly documented.
- Reporting discrepancies or irregularities according to company procedures.
🔐 CASH SECURITY
Because the position involves handling company cash, the successful candidate must maintain strict security controls.
Responsibilities will include:
- Keeping the cash office door locked at all times.
- Preventing unauthorised persons from entering the cash office.
- Keeping cash securely stored.
- Locking cash in the safe overnight where required.
- Ensuring previous-day takings are removed from the premises by 11:00 am the following day.
- Following all company policies and procedures relating to cash handling and security.
- Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with financial information.
