📢 JOB OVERVIEW
Clicks Group is looking for a Shop Assistant / Cashier to join the team at Clicks Pavillion in KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling point-of-sale (POS) activities, cash transactions, merchandising and general store operations.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with Grade 12 who are interested in building their experience within the retail and FMCG industry.
🛒 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Perform all point-of-sale activities accurately and efficiently.
- Scan merchandise correctly and process customer payments.
- Handle cash safely and responsibly.
- Assist customers with their purchases and provide professional service.
- Promote the Clicks ClubCard and assist customers with new registrations.
- Inform customers about current promotions and special offers.
- Act as a brand ambassador by providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience.
- Perform merchandising duties according to store and visual merchandising standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the store environment remains neat and presentable.
- Keep up to date with products, ranges, promotions and store events.
- Provide customers with accurate product and promotional information.
- Follow company procedures and instructions at all times.
- Support the Clicks Group vision of being the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Grade 12 is essential.
- Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG store environment is desirable.
💡 KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Applicants should have:
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Understanding of retail/FMCG operations.
- Knowledge of merchandising and promotional principles.
- Understanding of stock management procedures.
- Knowledge of excellent customer service practices.
