📢 JOB OVERVIEW
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Health Merchandiser to join their Malvern Park store in Queensburgh, KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards, ensuring products are correctly displayed, stocked and priced, and providing customers with excellent service.
This is an entry-level opportunity, making it suitable for candidates with Matric and up to 6 months’ retail experience. Candidates with a health-related diploma or degree and additional retail experience will have an advantage.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience.
- Computer literate, including MS Office.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
Advantageous:
- Diploma or degree in a health-focused category.
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- Knowledge of merchandising and the FMCG industry.
- Product and category knowledge.
- Bilingual communication skills.
- Knowledge of SAP and Unisolv.
- Ability to analyse ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking.
🛒 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Health Merchandiser will be responsible for:
- Restocking merchandise according to business requirements.
- Ensuring delivered stock is stored and packed in the correct location.
- Making sure the full product range is available on shelves.
- Rotating stock according to the First In, First Out (FIFO) principle.
- Assisting with general stocktaking.
- Ensuring shelves are neat, clean and properly presented.
- Checking that products have the correct labels and pricing.
- Building, facing, stocking and maintaining merchandising displays.
- Maintaining the physical appearance of the store and merchandise displays.
- Taking responsibility for designated stock in the storeroom and shop floor.
- Assisting with back shopping.
- Responding to customer stock queries and ensuring they are resolved.
- Reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviour involving staff or customers.
- Following all health and safety requirements when handling merchandise.
