Job Overview
A Canadian real estate company is looking for a confident, persistent and customer-focused Sales & Customer Success Representative to join its team remotely. The role is focused on communicating with prospective customers, following up with existing leads, qualifying prospects and setting appointments for field sales representatives.
This opportunity is well suited to someone who is comfortable spending a significant portion of their working day on the phone and enjoys speaking with people. The company already has a strong supply of leads, including customer names and phone numbers, meaning the primary focus is not finding leads from scratch. Instead, the successful candidate will be responsible for contacting, following up with and qualifying those prospects and helping move them towards an appointment or potential sale.
The ideal candidate should be confident speaking English, have a professional telephone manner and be comfortable handling objections and rejection. Persistence is particularly important because the role involves consistent follow-up and prospects may not always be ready to move forward after the first conversation.
Previous experience in sales, telemarketing, customer service or a call-centre environment will be advantageous. However, real estate experience is not specifically required, making this an opportunity for candidates with strong communication and sales-related skills who are interested in working with a Canadian real estate business.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing communication with prospective customers and supporting the sales process.
Duties will include:
- Answering inbound calls from prospective customers.
- Speaking professionally and confidently with potential clients.
- Following up with existing leads by telephone.
- Re-engaging customers who have previously shown interest but have not moved forward.
- Qualifying prospects and determining their level of interest.
- Asking relevant questions to understand customer needs and requirements.
- Setting appointments for field sales representatives.
- Arranging appointments for sales representatives to visit customers at their homes.
- Maintaining regular communication with prospects throughout the sales process.
- Following up consistently rather than allowing interested leads to go cold.
- Handling customer objections professionally.
- Responding positively and professionally to rejection.
- Identifying opportunities to move qualified prospects towards a sale.
- Potentially assisting with closing deals where appropriate.
- Recording calls, follow-ups and customer interactions accurately.
- Maintaining up-to-date information in the CRM or relevant record-keeping system.
- Working closely with the sales team to ensure qualified leads are handed over correctly.
- Ensuring prospects receive a professional and consistent customer experience.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating with customers over the phone and should have the confidence to make a high volume of calls throughout the working day.
Required / Preferred Experience
The following experience will be advantageous:
- Previous sales experience.
- Telemarketing experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Call-centre experience.
- Experience working with leads and follow-ups.
- Real estate experience is a plus, but is not required.
Candidates without real estate experience can still be considered if they demonstrate strong communication, sales and customer engagement abilities.
Skills and Competencies
The role requires excellent spoken English and clear communication. The successful candidate should have a strong telephone presence and be able to communicate professionally with a wide range of prospective customers.
Important qualities include:
- Excellent spoken English.
- Clear and professional communication.
- Strong telephone communication skills.
- Confidence when speaking with customers.
- Strong follow-up ability.
- Persistence and resilience.
- Ability to handle rejection.
- Ability to remain motivated after hearing “no”.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to qualify leads effectively.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to remain productive without constant supervision.
- Comfortable working towards sales-related outcomes.
The successful candidate should be naturally comfortable talking to people and should not hesitate to pick up the phone and initiate conversations.
Personality Profile
This role would suit someone who enjoys communicating with people and is motivated by turning conversations into opportunities.
The ideal candidate is:
- Naturally confident when speaking to people.
- Comfortable making phone calls.
- Persistent when prospects are not immediately interested.
- Resilient when dealing with rejection.
- Motivated by targets and results.
- Comfortable with consistent follow-up.
- Professional when handling difficult conversations.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Interested in sales and customer success.
- Able to maintain a positive attitude throughout the day.
A key part of the position is being able to hear “no” without becoming discouraged. Candidates should be willing to continue following up professionally and look for opportunities to convert interested prospects into appointments or sales.
Software and Tools
The successful candidate will use a CRM or similar customer management system to maintain accurate records of calls, follow-ups and customer interactions.
Experience with CRM systems will therefore be advantageous, although the key requirement is the ability to learn and use the systems required for the role accurately.
Working Schedule
This is a full-time remote position, requiring approximately 8 hours per day.
The proposed working schedule is approximately:
11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Mountain Time
Candidates should therefore be comfortable working an evening-oriented schedule where required.
Salary and Benefits
The position offers:
- Full-time remote work.
- A base hourly rate.
- Payment in USD or local currency, according to the candidate’s preference.
- Potential commission or additional compensation for candidates who are able to close deals.
The commission opportunity provides additional earning potential for candidates who demonstrate the ability to move qualified prospects beyond appointment setting and towards completed sales.
Why This Opportunity?
This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while gaining or developing experience in sales, customer success and real estate. Because the company provides an established supply of leads, the successful candidate can focus on the core sales activities of calling, following up, qualifying and converting prospects rather than spending most of their time sourcing new leads.
Candidates who are confident on the phone, have strong English communication skills and are comfortable with high-volume calling and follow-ups may find this a strong opportunity to develop their sales career in an international market.
