Job Purpose
The purpose of the Quants Exploration Programme is to develop talented individuals into world-class Quantitative Analysts.
Participants will contribute to the development and maintenance of best-practice models and assessment strategies, where applicable, in line with relevant regulations and governance requirements. Through this work, participants will support Nedbank’s broader risk-management objectives.
The programme also focuses on developing participants’ understanding of how quantitative and analytical concepts can be applied to real-world business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Successful participants will be expected to contribute to the programme and business through a range of analytical, collaborative and developmental activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems.
- Recommending effective ways of working that add value to Nedbank.
- Contributing proactively to the Nedbank Quants Training Programme.
- Participating in programme committees and structures, including marketing, recruitment and social committees.
- Engaging with business stakeholders through face-to-face interaction.
- Attending relevant forums and committees.
- Assisting the business with queries by extracting and analysing data.
- Documenting processes and models to ensure continuity and maintain a reliable knowledge base.
- Supporting compliance with policies through data analysis and monitoring.
- Developing an understanding of business processes.
- Bridging the gap between operational and analytical concepts through effective communication.

Qualifications
Essential Qualification
Applicants must have an:

Preferred Qualifications
A relevant business-related degree is preferred.
A Postgraduate, Honours or Master’s degree is advantageous, particularly where the qualification includes majors or specialisation in areas such as:
