📌 JOB OVERVIEW
VKB Group is looking for a hardworking and reliable General Worker to join its VKB Retail – Free State Bethlehem team.
The successful candidate will perform general duties that require minimal induction and will assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the premises, handling stock and providing customer service.
VKB Group is an established agricultural company that supports farmers and operates across various areas of the food supply chain, including agriculture, processing, logistics and market channels.
🎯 PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The General Worker will provide general operational support and assist with the day-to-day functioning of the VKB Retail branch.
The role is suitable for an entry-level candidate who is physically fit, willing to perform manual work and able to provide good service to customers and suppliers.
🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric or NQF Level 4.
- Ability to perform hard manual labour.
- Good physical health.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment.
- Willingness to assist with different tasks as required.
- Customer-focused attitude.
💼 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Stock Handling
- Loading and offloading stock.
- Assisting customers and suppliers with loading and offloading.
- Handling stock according to company policies and procedures.
- Assisting with stock control.
- Ensuring stock is handled carefully and efficiently.
Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Keeping the premises clean and tidy.
- Performing general cleaning duties.
- Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the premises.
- Ensuring work areas remain safe, organised and presentable.
- Taking responsibility for general tidiness.
Customer Service
- Assisting customers with their requirements.
- Providing professional and friendly customer service.
- Assisting suppliers when required.
- Ensuring customers receive appropriate assistance with loading and offloading stock.
General Duties
- Performing ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time.
- Supporting other employees with general operational activities.
- Completing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Continuously adding value to the function of the position.
- Following company policies and procedures.
