The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for 2 Driver positions at Weskoppies Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced heavy vehicle drivers who meet the required licensing and experience requirements.

🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Have a Grade 10 certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Have a valid Code 10 / C1 driver’s licence.
- Have a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- If the PDP has expired, proof that renewal has been applied for must be attached.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience driving heavy vehicles.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Have good customer-care skills.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Be able to work under pressure.
- Be prepared to undergo a driving test.
Knowledge of the Government fleet and the Transport Handbook Policy will be an added advantage.
🚚 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Executing all authorised trips for MHCU’s and staff.
- Collecting and delivering documents and goods to and from other institutions.
- Collecting and delivering medication and specimens between wards, pharmacies and other institutions.
- Conducting regular vehicle inspections.
- Checking vehicle licences/discs and Certificates of Fitness (COF).
- Completing vehicle logbooks accurately.
- Recording the usage of fuel cards.
- Reporting all accidents and incidents immediately to the Transport Officer.
- Ensuring the safe keeping of the government vehicle and its accessories.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Following all relevant transport, safety and departmental procedures.
