Key Responsibilities
The Customer Assistant: Foods will be responsible for:
- Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, professional service.
- Assisting customers with product-related questions and providing relevant product knowledge.
- Keeping shelves fully stocked and ensuring products are presented according to Woolworths standards.
- Rotating stock correctly to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
- Monitoring product quality and reporting any issues.
- Following food handling, hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
- Operating the cashier when required.
- Completing basic administrative and stock-related tasks.
- Identifying and reporting suspicious activity, stock losses and shrinkage.
- Keeping the Foods department clean, organised and presentable.
- Following planograms and company merchandising standards.
- Communicating promotions, new products and relevant information to customers.
- Working across different shifts according to business requirements.
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to an efficient and positive team environment.
- Following company policies relating to attendance, dress code and professional conduct.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / equivalent NQF Level qualification.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Strong customer-service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and politely.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to follow operational procedures.
