Job Overview
An opportunity is available for a Checker I to join the Safripol KZN Main Warehouse in Durban.
The Checker I is responsible for verifying the accuracy, quality and condition of products and inventory throughout warehouse and dispatch operations. The role involves checking goods during assembling, packing, unpacking, weighing, stacking, loading and unloading, while ensuring that records and documentation are completed accurately.
This is an entry-level position suited to someone with Grade 12/Matric and some experience in a similar warehouse, stock control, logistics or quality-checking environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with:
- Checking the assembling, packing, unpacking, weighing, stacking, loading and unloading of goods.
- Verifying the quantity, condition and accuracy of products or containers.
- Checking and recording product and container information manually or electronically.
- Performing stock control activities.
- Supporting dispatch operations.
- Completing accurate record keeping and administration.
- Performing system administration related to warehouse activities.
- Conducting pre-loading inspections of vehicles.
- Checking that vehicles are clean before loading.
- Ensuring vehicle slides are closed before loading.
- Loading and sealing vehicles correctly.
- Weighing vehicle axles to ensure legal load compliance.
- Completing bin stock documentation.
- Carrying out general warehouse and loading-area duties.
- Cleaning the weighbridge and loading area daily.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards throughout the loading facility.
- Following all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4.
- Up to 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work accurately with stock, documentation and records.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a warehouse and dispatch environment.
