Job Overview

Premier FMCG is offering an exciting Quality Assurance Internship for students who are in the third or final year of their Diploma in Food Technology or Biotechnology. This 12-month internship provides valuable workplace experience within one of South Africa’s leading FMCG companies and is based at the East London Wheat Mill laboratory.

The programme is designed to expose interns to real-world quality assurance processes in a manufacturing environment. Working alongside experienced quality professionals, you will gain practical knowledge of food safety, quality control, auditing, laboratory procedures, and technical support while contributing to the production of trusted household brands.

Throughout the internship, you will participate in structured on-the-job training and gain experience across various manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will:

  • Assist with internal and external site audits.
  • Support food safety and quality control processes.
  • Help train employees on food safety procedures.
  • Provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Support the management of external service providers.
  • Assist in implementing the site’s food safety culture plan.
  • Participate in laboratory activities and quality inspections.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Be currently in their 3rd or final year of a Diploma in:
    • Food Technology, or
    • Biotechnology.
  • A valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
