The Sculler plays a vital role in the smooth running of the hotel’s kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised. The role also involves maintaining hygiene standards, supporting kitchen staff with general cleaning duties, assisting with deliveries when required, and ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Washing and sanitising dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Keeping the scullery and kitchen areas clean, organised, and hygienic.
- Cleaning floors, walls, workstations, and kitchen equipment.
- Disposing of waste and recycling according to company procedures.
- Assisting with receiving and storing stock deliveries when required.
- Replenishing cleaning materials and reporting shortages.
- Following food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with general cleaning duties.
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout food preparation and service areas.
- Ensuring the kitchen remains ready for daily operations.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 10 qualification (Matric is preferred).
- Previous experience in a scullery or kitchen environment (advantageous).
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods.
