Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Greeting customers and providing outstanding customer service.
- Assisting customers with product enquiries and recommendations.
- Promoting specials, new products, and suitable alternatives when products are unavailable.
- Rotating stock to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Replenishing shelves accurately and timeously.
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cold chain standards.
- Monitoring product quality and removing damaged or expired stock.
- Managing returns to vendors where required.
- Following merchandising standards, planograms, and gap management procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and attractive department.
- Minimising stock losses by following shrinkage control procedures.
- Reporting suspicious activities or dishonest acts.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to store objectives.
- Maintaining professional appearance and adhering to company dress code and hygiene standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF qualification.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and early mornings.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and cold chain management.
- Attention to detail.
- Good punctuality and personal discipline.
