Job Overview
BUCO Acornhoek, part of The Building Company, is looking for an experienced Forklift Driver to join its team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe loading, unloading, moving, and stacking of heavy and bulk materials using a forklift, Hyster, or sand loader.
This position is ideal for someone who has experience operating forklifts in a retail, warehouse, or building materials environment and who is committed to maintaining high safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Loading and off-loading heavy and bulk deliveries.
- Moving stock to the correct storage locations.
- Stacking and packing goods safely and accurately.
- Interpreting invoices and delivery documentation.
- Performing routine forklift inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Ensuring goods are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Providing excellent customer service when assisting customers with collections.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Upholding and promoting the company’s values and culture at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A valid Forklift Driver’s Certificate.
- At least 2 years of forklift driving experience.
