About the Opportunity
The eThekwini Municipality is recruiting Seasonal Pool Attendants to join the Recreation and Parks Directorate. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience in a swimming pool environment who are passionate about maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public facilities.
As a Pool Attendant, you will assist in the daily maintenance of municipal swimming pools, ensure visitors enjoy a safe environment, and provide excellent customer service. The position is seasonal and requires individuals who are reliable, physically fit, and committed to serving the community.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Preparing equipment, tools, materials, and small plant required for daily duties.
- Ensuring all equipment is returned to the correct storage area after each shift.
- Cleaning and maintaining the swimming pool, change rooms, buildings, and surrounding areas.
- Assisting members of the public with minor enquiries and complaints.
- Referring complex matters to the Supervisor when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
- Supporting the smooth daily operation of municipal swimming pools.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- An appropriate level of secondary education.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience in a swimming pool environment.
Preferred Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 18 months of relevant experience.
- Previous experience working as a seasonal employee in a swimming pool environment.
