Job Overview

As an Inventory Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring stock integrity by monitoring inventory levels, investigating discrepancies, coordinating stock counts, maintaining accurate system records, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Certificate or Diploma in Inventory Management.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • 3–5 years’ experience working specifically with inventory control.
  • Knowledge and experience using SAP WM (Warehouse Management) systems.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to follow company procedures and workplace safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

As an Inventory Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain stock integrity throughout the warehouse.
  • Coordinate and manage the perpetual inventory (PI) programme.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts.
  • Monitor stock shortages and shipment discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan and supervise monthly stock counts.
  • Investigate stock variances and process authorised stock adjustments.
  • Record, reconcile, and maintain inventory documentation.
  • Monitor stock quality, expiry dates, damaged products, and packaging issues.
  • Manage held, frozen, damaged, and write-off stock according to company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate item master data, storage locations, and system records.
  • Set up and maintain warehouse pack data and put-away preferences.
  • Prepare inventory reports, KPI reports, and stock integrity statistics.
  • Investigate inventory movement discrepancies between DHL and clients.
  • Process goods received adjustments and reconcile receiving documentation.
  • Assist with destruction, recovery, and repacking of damaged stock.
  • Support warehouse stock take preparations and physical inventory counts.
  • Verify stock picking accuracy and packing lists.
  • Compile documentation for stock transfers and shuttling.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with DHL operating procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
