Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Keeping shelves fully stocked, organised, and neatly merchandised.
- Monitoring expiry dates and removing expired stock.
- Restocking merchandise to maximise product availability and sales.
- Following up on customer out-of-stock queries promptly.
- Ensuring stock from deliveries is stored correctly.
- Maintaining accurate product pricing and reporting discrepancies.
- Keeping the storeroom clean, organised, and tidy.
- Developing product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
- Assisting with back shopping and replenishment.
- Handling merchandise carefully to minimise stock losses.
- Processing customer payments using approved payment methods.
- Handling customer exchanges and authorised returns.
- Processing loyalty card transactions.
- Maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
- Assisting with stock rotation and stock control.
- Reporting damaged, expired, or low stock levels.
- Participating in stock counts and stocktaking activities.
- Assisting with loading and offloading deliveries.
- Flattening boxes and maintaining housekeeping standards.
- Providing friendly, professional customer service.
- Reporting customer compliments and complaints.
- Assisting with the training of new team members when required.
- Ensuring outgoing merchandise is correctly scanned and paid for.
- Reporting suspicious behaviour to management.
- Following company health, safety, and security procedures.
- Maintaining professional appearance according to company standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
- Between 0 and 6 months of retail experience.
Advantageous Requirements
The following will be beneficial:
- One year of retail experience.
- Retail Business Management certification.
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- SAP knowledge.
- Basic numerical skills.
