Key Responsibilities
General Assistant (Cleaner)
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Cleaning offices, laboratories, and common areas.
- Maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Operating cleaning equipment safely.
- Using cleaning chemicals correctly.
- Managing general and hazardous waste where applicable.
- Monitoring cleaning materials and reporting shortages.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment.
General Assistant (Facilities)
Duties include:
- Performing general maintenance and repair work.
- Assisting with plumbing, painting, carpentry, and basic electrical tasks.
- Supporting facilities maintenance projects.
- Operating maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Maintaining maintenance records.
- Identifying and reporting safety hazards.
- Complying with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
General Assistant (Cleaner)
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Between 0 and 5 years of cleaning experience.
- Experience using cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
- Healthcare or laboratory cleaning experience will be an advantage.
General Assistant (Facilities)
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or N3 qualification.
- Up to three years of maintenance or handyman experience.
- Valid South African Code B driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Knowledge of plumbing, painting, carpentry, and basic electrical maintenance.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
