Ampath Laboratories is looking for a dedicated and hardworking General Assistant (Cleaner) to join its Facilities team in Cape Town. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Cleaning offices, laboratories, and common areas.
- Maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Handling cleaning chemicals according to safety procedures.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly.
- Assisting with the safe disposal of hazardous and general waste.
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting shortages.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment in good working condition.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Working independently and as part of a team.
- Ensuring all work areas remain clean, organised, and welcoming.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Between 0 and 5 years of cleaning experience.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment.
- Understanding of safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills.
Advantageous Experience
The following will be an added advantage:
- Experience working in hospitals, laboratories, or healthcare facilities.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste disposal.
- Experience maintaining cleaning equipment.
- Basic stock control knowledge.
