Yoco is looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join its growing Sales team in KwaZulu-Natal. As a Sales Development Representative, you will play an important role in the early stages of the sales process by identifying potential customers, engaging with decision-makers, qualifying leads, and booking appointments for the company’s inside and outside sales teams. Your primary objective will be to generate high-quality sales opportunities that contribute to business growth.

This position requires someone who is proactive, confident when communicating with clients, and comfortable using multiple prospecting methods including phone calls, emails, social media platforms, and online research tools. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Prospecting potential customers through outbound calls, emails, and other communication channels.
  • Researching prospective clients using LinkedIn, Google Maps, Meta, and other business research platforms.
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified business leads.
  • Identifying key decision-makers within organisations and understanding their business needs.
  • Presenting Yoco’s products and services to prospective customers.
  • Organising and hosting group demonstrations, webinars, and live seminars to generate new business opportunities.
  • Participating in trade shows, networking events, and marketing activities to expand the customer pipeline.
  • Conducting needs assessments to understand customer challenges and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Qualifying leads before scheduling appointments for the Inside Sales (Telesales) or Field Sales teams.
  • Following up with prospects when appointments are missed or require rescheduling.
  • Maintaining accurate customer information and activity records using CRM systems.
  • Keeping up to date with market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and new technologies within the payments industry.
  • Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to improve the customer journey and sales process.
  • Contributing ideas to improve prospecting strategies, customer engagement, and sales performance.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • 2–5 years of Sales Development Representative (SDR), sales, or customer support experience.
  • Experience using various customer engagement and lead generation techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with decision-makers and business owners.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good computer literacy and confidence using digital tools.
