About the Position
Fedics is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join its team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the cash register, processing customer payments accurately, preparing and serving meals and beverages, and ensuring every customer receives excellent service. This role also involves maintaining hygiene standards, assisting with stock control, and supporting the daily operations of the catering unit.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cashier, you will:
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently.
- Process cash and card transactions.
- Deliver outstanding customer service.
- Prepare and serve meals, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene within the work area.
- Follow all cash handling policies and procedures.
- Assist with stock control and stock takes.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Ensure accurate recording of all sales.
- Support daily catering operations.
- Maintain loss prevention and company control measures.
- Work effectively with team members to ensure smooth service.
- Keep the cashier area neat, organised, and welcoming.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Good customer service skills.
- Previous cash handling experience.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A professional and presentable appearance.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good time management skills.
Advantageous
The following will be an added advantage:
- Previous experience in catering or food service.
- Experience working in a hospitality or restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
