Job Overview
The Capital Hotels & Apartments is looking for an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to join its team in Umhlanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the restaurant, bars, room service, conferencing, and functions. Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, the supervisor will ensure that all food and beverage services operate efficiently, guests receive outstanding service, and company standards are consistently maintained. In the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager, the successful candidate will oversee and manage the department.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to supervise and coordinate the hotel’s Food & Beverage operations while ensuring excellent customer service, efficient team performance, and smooth day-to-day operations across all food service areas.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Supervise daily restaurant, bar, room service, conferencing, and function operations.
- Support and assist the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Manage Food & Beverage operations in the manager’s absence.
- Lead and motivate the Food & Beverage team.
- Ensure excellent customer service at all times.
- Resolve guest queries and complaints professionally.
- Monitor service quality and operational standards.
- Coordinate staff duties and daily activities.
- Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and service standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Hospitality qualification or equivalent.
- 1–2 years’ Food & Beverage supervisory experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.

- Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
