Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be proficient in English and at least one other official South African language.
- Be in possession of an ABET Level 4, Grade 9, or Standard 7 qualification (NQF Level 1 recognised by SAQA).
- Produce supporting documentation when requested.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform the core functions of the post.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

- Knowledge of cleaning detergents and cleaning procedures.
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to work professionally with colleagues.
- Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment.
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Workers will be responsible for:
- Cleaning SAPS offices, buildings, and surrounding areas.
- Dusting offices and workspaces.
- Polishing furniture and floors.
- Vacuuming carpets and mopping tiled floors.
- Removing refuse and waste.
- Performing general maintenance duties around the premises.
- Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms.
- Using and maintaining cleaning equipment safely.
- Loading and unloading goods.
- Performing garden maintenance.
- Washing and cleaning state vehicles.
Salary
Successful candidates will receive:
R144 024 per annum plus applicable government employment benefits.
