About the Internship
PEP, South Africa’s largest single-brand retailer with over 2,600 stores across Southern Africa, is offering an exciting 12-month Graduate Internship for graduates with a technical background in Electrical Engineering.
This programme provides valuable hands-on corporate experience in Energy and Utility Management, giving graduates the opportunity to develop technical, analytical, and infrastructure support skills in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage store beverage fridge call-outs and replacements.
- Identify fridge replacement requirements and prepare approval documentation.
- Analyse electricity usage data.
- Monitor and report electricity consumption anomalies.
- Assist with backup power proposals for stores and shopping centres.
- Support generator replacement projects.
- Handle calls relating to store amplifiers and speaker systems.
- Assist the technical management team with infrastructure support.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Diploma or Degree with a technical background, specialising in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of refrigeration (advantageous).
- South African citizenship.
- Be between 18 and 32 years of age.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and Google Suite).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
