PG Building Glass, Southern Africa’s leading distributor of float glass, mirrors, and PG SmartGlass® products, is looking for a responsible and experienced Truck Driver to join its Cape Town Processing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering glass products safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with company procedures, road safety regulations, and quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
📌 Key Responsibilities
As a Truck Driver, your duties will include:
- Deliver glass products safely and efficiently to customers.
- Maintain a clean and roadworthy vehicle at all times.
- Complete daily trip sheets accurately and honestly.
- Complete quality inspection sheets during loading.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report faults immediately.
- Build and maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Comply with environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Obey all road traffic regulations.
- Load and offload glass products safely.
- Assist with loading materials before departing for deliveries.
- Complete all delivery documentation accurately.
- Work overtime, weekends, and shifts when required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Factory Services Manager.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A valid Code 10 driver’s licence or higher.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Ability to work independently.
- High levels of honesty, integrity, and reliability.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
⭐ Experience Required
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience transporting dangerous goods.
- Experience handling various types of glass products.
- Knowledge of reading production orders and technical drawings.
- Experience in glass handling and quality control.
- At least 2 years’ truck driving experience (advantageous).
