Job Overview

Premier FMCG is inviting applications for an Office Administration Graduate to join its Health, Safety and Environment (SHE) Department at the Packo site in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal. This fixed-term graduate opportunity is ideal for recently qualified graduates who are looking to gain practical workplace experience in office administration while building a career within one of South Africa’s leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies.

The purpose of this graduate role is to provide administrative and coordination support to the SHE Department while ensuring that office operations run smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will assist with document management, record keeping, meeting coordination, reporting, communication, and various administrative functions that support the department’s daily operations.

This position offers graduates the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained during their studies while developing practical workplace skills. You will work closely with the SHE Officer and other departmental team members, gaining valuable experience in administration, document control, information management, and professional business communication.

A large part of the role involves maintaining accurate records and ensuring all departmental documentation is properly organised and easily accessible. You will be responsible for filing, scanning, archiving, and updating important company records while ensuring that information is handled confidentially and in accordance with company policies and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

The successful candidate will also assist in scheduling meetings, organising appointments, preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and coordinating training sessions for the department. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities will be essential in ensuring deadlines are met and departmental activities are effectively coordinated.

You will also prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and general correspondence while supporting communication within the department through email, telephone, and other administrative channels. Accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism are essential, as much of the information handled by the SHE Department is confidential and business-critical.

No previous work experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain their first professional experience. However, applicants who have completed internships, vacation work, or temporary administrative roles during their studies will have an added advantage.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Essential Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A tertiary qualification in:
    • Office Administration, or
    • Business and Information Management.

Experience

  • No previous work experience is required.
  • Internship or temporary administrative experience while studying will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

As an Office Administration Graduate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide daily administrative support to the SHE Officer and department.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and document control.
  • Capture, update, and manage information on company systems and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain departmental registers and records.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and training sessions.
